The Strother Foundation, Incorporated
The Strother Foundation, Incorporated, was formed in the State of Maryland on February 14, 1996. The Foundation was organized primarily for the preservation, repair, improvement and proper construction of memorabilia, monuments, cemeteries, structures, buildings or homes, which have a public or historical connotation or interest. In addition, the Foundation is interested in the cataloging and publication of historical research papers and will assist in funding archaeological studies. Special emphasis is placed upon the preservation of records of historical events in the American Colonies and the United States. Emphasis is also placed upon activities, properties and matters of historical significance in connection with the times and experiences of the Strother family.
The Foundation has been actively involved in the restoration and preservation of the historic Nalley-Strother Cemetery in Virginia, an ongoing project. The Foundation is interested in identifying additional projects consistent with the tax-exempt purposes for which it was founded. Any member of the Foundation's Board of Directors may be contacted regarding ideas for projects.
The Foundation has qualified as a tax-exempt organization
under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Therefore, for Federal
income tax and estate tax purposes, donors may deduct contributions to the
Foundation. Contributions should be made payable to The Strother Foundation,
Incorporated, and sent c/o Edward L. Strother to 36 Puget Drive, Steilacoom,
WA 98388-1521.
